French carmaker Renault topped the podium of car sales in Morocco with a market share of 42 percent in 2018, that is 75.418 cars.
A report by Renault said that Morocco remains the main market for the group where it has production plants in Tangier and Casablanca.
Last October, Renault said it will bring up its output in Morocco to 500,000 vehicles per year, including 340,000 manufactured at its Tangier plant.
Currently, about 10 percent of total cars sold by Renault in the globe are made in Morocco, where 73 percent of production is exported to 73 countries, notably in Europe and the MENA region.
The automotive sector in Morocco currently has a local integration rate of more than 50 percent and employs 85,000 people.
